Dr. Barbara P. Srur

Dr. Barbara P. Srur is a Child, Adolescent and Adult Psychiatrist who has extensive inpatient and outpatient experience in the Sarasota/Bradenton area. She has been an Associate Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at FSU Medical School where she taught 3rd year students. In 2010, she was the recipient of the FSU Distinguished Teacher Award.
Dr. Srur trained at North Shore University Hospital, which was affiliated with Cornell Medical School in New York, as a Pediatric intern, where she also completed a Child Psychiatry Fellowship. Her Adult Psychiatry training was at Montefiore Hospital, Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology as well as the American Board of Holistic and Integrative Medicine.
Dr. Srur is also a Psychopharmocologist, skilled in the treatment of depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, anxiety disorders, OCD, and eating disorders. She believes in using an integrative approach to treatment and, when indicated, the lowest effective dose of medications.
